Treatment

Rest is not a rehab plan.

Structured injury rehabilitation in Milton Keynes — from the acute stage through to full return. Treatment plus progressive loading, from someone qualified to prescribe both. £55.

The gap most people fall into

Better, but not back to it.

You saw someone at the acute stage, it settled, and then everything stopped. No one told you how to get from “not painful” back to sprinting, lifting heavy or playing a full match.

That middle bit is rehab, and it is where most re-injuries are made. Tissue that has not been loaded properly is not ready, however good it feels walking around.

How rehab runs

Four phases, not four sessions.

How long each phase takes depends on the tissue, the injury and you. The order does not change.

  1. 01

    Settle and protect

Calm the irritated tissue down and keep everything around it moving. This is the shortest phase, and the one people wrongly spend months in.

  2. 02

    Restore range

Hands-on work plus active mobility to get the joint and tissue moving through a full range again, before we ask it to produce force.

  3. 03

    Load progressively

The part that actually rebuilds capacity. Structured, measurable and gradually heavier — this is where the Personal Trainer qualification earns its keep.

  4. 04

    Return to sport

Speed, change of direction, fatigue tolerance — tested rather than guessed, so you go back when the tissue is ready rather than when the calendar says so.

What you get

Included in every rehab block.

Assessment
Baseline range, strength and functional testing, repeated so progress is measured rather than felt.
Hands-on
Soft tissue work each session to keep the area comfortable enough to load properly.
Programme
A written plan with sets, reps and progressions — not a printout of stretches.
Adjustment
The plan changes as you do. Flare-ups are normal and get worked around, not panicked about.
Referral
If it needs imaging or a consultant, I will say so early rather than keep you on the couch.
Honesty
A realistic timescale from the start, including when it is longer than you were hoping.
Post-operative? Bring your surgeon’s protocol and any restrictions with you. I will work inside them and liaise with your physio if you have one.
