Treatment
Sports massage for people who actually train.
Recovery between hard sessions, niggles caught before they become injuries, and race weeks that feel like they should. 60 or 30 minutes, £55.
Timing it right
When you book matters as much as what you book.
The same pair of hands does very different work depending on where you are in the block. Tell me what is in the diary and I will match the session to it.
Mid-block
The regular one. Deeper work on the areas taking the load, plus honest feedback on what is starting to grumble before it becomes a problem.
2–5 days out
Lighter, faster, and never anything new. The aim is to leave you feeling loose and ready, not sore and second-guessing your legs on the start line.
2–4 days after
Once the initial soreness has settled. Flushing work, range restoration, and a look at anything the race exposed while it is still fresh.
Between blocks
The best time to fix the thing you have been managing all season. No taper to protect, no race to avoid feeling heavy for.
A myth worth dropping
You do not need to be an athlete.
Most people on my couch are not racing anything. They lift twice a week, run a parkrun, walk the dog, and sit at a desk for the other forty hours.
Sports massage describes the approach, not the client. If your body is under load — and a desk is a load — it applies to you.
