Treatment
Soft tissue therapy
in Milton Keynes.
For pain and restriction that keeps coming back. Assessment-led, technique chosen from what the testing shows. 60 or 30 minutes, £55.
What it actually is
The clinical end of massage.
A relaxing massage is a lovely hour. Soft tissue therapy is a different job: assess, treat, then load the tissue so the change holds once you leave the room.
It suits the problems that keep returning — the shoulder that tightens every time work gets busy, the hamstring that goes twice a year, the back that seizes after long drives.
If the same thing keeps coming back, the treatment was never the problem. The cause was.
The toolkit
Techniques, chosen not defaulted.
Which of these you get depends entirely on what the assessment found. There is no set routine.
- Soft tissue release
- Muscle energy techniques (MET)
- Trigger point therapy
- Myofascial release
- Neuromuscular technique
- Joint mobilisation within range
- Corrective and loading exercise
- Movement and gait retraining
Who it suits
Three people I see every week.
Neck and shoulders by Thursday
Fine on Monday, tight by midweek, headache by Friday. Almost always the upper back and breathing pattern rather than the neck itself.
It goes every few months
The same hamstring, the same calf, the same side of the back. Rest fixes it for a while and then it returns, because nothing changed underneath.
Six weeks and no better
You have rested it, stretched it, watched the videos. Persistent problems usually need loading, not more rest — and that needs a plan.
Book soft tissue therapy
Let’s stop it coming back.
Tell me how long it has been going on and what you have already tried. That usually tells me a lot before you even get on the couch.
