Local questions
Asked from round here.
When should I book around a race?
Two to five days before for something light, or two to four days after once soreness settles. Never anything new or deep in race week.
My Achilles is sore but I can still run. Should I stop?
Not necessarily, but it does need assessing rather than ignoring. Tendon problems respond well to correctly graded loading and badly to complete rest, which is the opposite of most advice.
